Me thinks I am going to get the collecter's edition. I need a decent set of headphones to compliment my Logitech Z5500's. (For those of you who don't know, turn up your MP3's really loud and punch yourself in the chest to the beat). I also would like the TeamSpeak server for a few months, cuz I dont have enough upload speed to host 8 players on my compy.

If there was a way to just get a code to play the game off the client I already have (one of the ways you can get Lineage 2) I'd go for that. I don't want any of the extra stuff. I just want to play the game.

For me the extra $30.00 isn't worth it, I already have a headset, the guild already has a TS server and besides I'm getting 3 copies of the game.

Originally I paid full price for standard pre-order at EB Games, phoned in and upgraded to collectors. All the extra stuff seems worth it, especially the headset, which I'm giving to a friend due to his annoying use of a free standing mic and speakers during our online play....makes for some nasty echoing/feedback on my end as I come through his speakers and get picked up by the mic

I pre-ordered from Best Buy back in Feb. Does anybody know if I can switch to the CE version. I went to the store but the clerk was no help.

Hrm, perhaps give them a call? And if you still get lame freaks who don't know what they're doing >_> Phone another location! and keep doing so till you get the answer you want! If you can, then just go in and if they contest it or get all confused just say you called and they said you could.

I upgraded to the collectors edition, though I'm still not really sure why... The stuff that comes with it is cool, but I'm usually not all that big on collectors edition extras. Just more junk to clutter up my already messy room. I guess I just have lots of love for ArenaNet and want to support them to the best of my ability. That, plus the fact that there's no monthly fee, kills any qualms I'd usually have about shelling out a little extra.

I actually didn't know about the divine aura until pretty recently, though. I really hope it doesn't end up being annoying. If it looks like the colored "shell" type auras the bosses have around them (which is kind of what I'm expecting) it'll probably get old pretty quick. I'd rather they have offered some other in-game goodie. Perhaps an aura I could apply to my weapon (any weapon, an unlimited number of times) instead of my whole character.

Heh reading through this thread, the common phrase seems to be "I don't know why I decided to upgrade, but I did!"

They must be using some sort of mind control, being broadcast through those damn updates during the BWE's!!!

And I agree with Lunar. Like him I'm kinda expecting it to be the less than attractive glowing of the bosses. If it is, maybe we'll be lucky and can pawn the object causing the aura? Or just drop it >_>

As far as I know, I've preordered the retail version. I don't really deel the need for any of those extras right now. Maybe in a year or so if I find the CE in the bargain bin I'll pick it up.

In my opinion the extra 20 or 30 dollars spent on the collectors edition is not worth it.I would rather save that cash for future expansions.Perhaps if they came out with a gold edition with a cloth map and a pewter figure and some kinda poster, now that I would buy.

isn't that the everquest 2 package?
but yaa a cloth map would be the GREATEST IMO
i would love that
but i think it would be cool for them to have some sort of online thing where like you could send in info about your character and they would make it out of like plastic or whatever and send it to you for cash
kinda like that old thing where you could design your own shoe online
or maybe they could say since my main char is a necro, they would sell me a necro with just the undies (not a perversion)
but you could buy armor for the figure and stuff
or maybe send them a screenshot of ur char and theyll send you one of it or something
ya alot of people would think this is a bad idea and yell at me for posting in the wrong section but it just came out of my mind

How about sending away for outfits that your char is wearing to you can put them on in real life and play the game. XD

Just kidding Even I am not that into this game and I would most likely get locked up. edit:
besides they have all the necro wear you cold want at Hot Topic.

I like the map and figure idea though.
